Jill A. Tardiff is the National Reading Group Month (NRGM) Chair and Event Manager, a marketing initiative fostered by the Women’s National Book Association (WNBA), a professional development and literacy outreach nonprofit organization. She is WNBA’s Main NGO Representative at the United Nations Department of Public Information and its current Social Media Manager. Jill was the WNBA’s National President (2004-2006) and the New York City Chapter’s President (2000-2006).

Over the past three-and-half decades, Jill has held top retail management positions at Hallmark Cards, Inc., Doubleday BookShops, and Tiffany & Co., as well as principal of Bamboo River Associates, a retail consultancy serving major Japanese publishers and booksellers such as Shueisha Publishing Co. and Kodansha Ltd. Miraiken Group. She has worked as a reporter and columnist at Shinbunka Weekly, contributing editor at Shueisha Publishing Co., and Publishers Weekly, advertising manager at Guernica Magazine, Parabola Magazine, and Persimmon Asian Literature, Arts & Culture, as well as project manager/editor at Lintel Press. Jill is currently involved in the farm-to-table food advocacy movement under the banner of Alder & Vine with professional expertise in artisan and farmstead cheeses and provides literary terroir pairing services to groups upon request.

Anne Bartholomew is a writer, editor, and bookseller with particular experience in online retail and content development at Amazon.com. Much of her work over the last five years has been focused on connecting authors with readers via custom marketing, interviews, reviews and social media. She is a graduate of Fordham University in New York, as well as the Denver Publishing Institute, and the Institute of Culinary Education. As a reader, her turn-to categories include debut fiction and mysteries, cookbooks, young adult, and memoir, but she’ll happily read anything that comes with a good recommendation.

For 20 years, Nancy served as Marketing Director at the Harry W. Schwartz Bookshops, where she helped create national buzz for such books as Astrid & Veronika and Girl with a Pearl Earring. Now Nancy works with hundreds of independent retailers through Local First Milwaukee, networking both locally and nationally. At Third Sector Creative, she aids local nonprofits with marketing strategy, public relations and social media. Passionate about women’s and literary fiction, Nancy uses social media to share the love of reading good books. You can take the girl out of the bookstore, but not the bookseller out of the girl!

With over 20 years in general book publishing, much of it as Vice President of Sales responsible for independent retail and library jobber sales for such major publishers as Penguin USA and HarperCollins, Jeanette Zwart has a national reputation as someone who knows how to identify titles with the greatest potential for success in the retail and library channels, and for getting retailers to partner with the publisher  to set up a title for optimal sales.  She sees retailers, publishers and writers as working in tandem to find the right reader for every book.

Jeanette has worked on many bestsellers including Lauren Oliver’s Young Adult novels Before I Fall and Delirium; and Veronica Roth’s DIVERGENT trilogy.  Adult non-fiction titles she’s worked on include such non-fiction titles as It Worked For Me:  Lessons In Life and Leadership, Colin Powell’s inspirational lessons from a life of public service and leadership; diet and health books including the Dr. Atkins books; Mehment Oz’s You: The Owner’s Manual and  Drew Manning’s  Fit2Fat2Fit: The Unexpected Lessons from Gaining and Losing 75 lbs on Purpose (seen recently on Dr. Oz and other national media).

She has a special expertise in building mid-list and debut authors, and is proud of her contribution to the success of books like Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter by Tom Franklin; A Land More Kind Than Home by Wiley Cash; Canada by Richard Ford; Serena by Ron Rash; and Round House by Louise Erdrich.
