KAREN STRAUSS

SELF-PUBLISHING AND DISTRIBUTION

Karen Strauss has worked in book publishing since 1981, when she started at Bantam Books as a senior publicist. She then moved on to The Free Press to become its Director of Trade Marketing. She directed and managed marketing campaigns for what would become the leading publisher of social science and political books. In 1988 Karen joined Crown Publishing as Sales Manager where she directed a sales force of 20 reps while also selling national accounts, and then became National Sales Manager at Avon Books.

In 1991 Strauss Consultants, Inc. was founded to help small publishers maximize their sales potential and distribution needs. Due to changes in the market, and the rise of print on demand, Strauss expanded their services to reflect the current more dynamic landscape.

With extensive history in the U.S. book market and experience in sales, marketing and publicity, Strauss has expanded her services to include authors who are looking to find publication and distribution in both print and e-books.
